Nina de Vitry

Nina de Vitry is a musician based in Nashville, Tennessee. From her first memories of late-night old time and bluegrass campfire jams, listening to her dad’s Django jazz band, and her years of training in classical violin and piano, she has always been surrounded by song and inspiration. A passionate multi-instrumentalist, songwriter and vocalist who brings a distinctive genre-bending aptitude to her style, she is a sought after performer, recording artist, and educator.

Nina currently tours full time as a member of the Noah Kahan band. This phase of her career has landed her in front of audiences ranging from the Glastonbury Festival to Madison Square Garden and the Hollywood Bowl. Whether on stage or in the studio, she finds great creative fulfillment in accompanying songwriters. She has collaborated with a wide array of notable artists including Corey Harper, Maya de Vitry, Jake Bryne, Ava Swan, and Dallas Ugly, adding her characteristic touch on the fiddle, mandolin, piano, banjo, guitar, and vocals.

In addition to her path as an instrumentalist, Nina has earned critical acclaim as a songwriter and producer. With international recognition as a four time finalist in the John Lennon Songwriting Competition and an EP and full length album under her belt, she continues to make her mark as a recording artist.

I stumbled upon my first Big Mon mandolin about six months ago, and couldn’t be happier to represent Northfield. I tried to choose between two Big Mons; one a rich yet delicate Englemann spruce top and the other a bright and responsive Red Spruce top. In the end, I had to have both. I chose one as my touring axe in the Noah Kahan band, while the other lives at home and frequents jams and sessions. Both offer such ease of playability, roundness of tone, and depth in the low end. I am excited to play these mandolins for years to come.
